We spoke with small business owners in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kuwait about how they actually use AI. The answers were less dramatic and more useful than the marketing suggests.
1. WhatsApp customer replies
Drafting dialect-appropriate replies for recurring questions: availability, shipping, returns. Staff review and send, so response time drops without losing the human touch.
2. Product descriptions
Stores adding dozens of SKUs a month save hours by generating a first Arabic description from the product photo and specs, then editing by hand.
3. Meeting notes into tasks
Record the meeting, then extract decisions, tasks, and owners. The simplest use case, and the easiest for non-technical teams to adopt.
The most successful use case we saw was not the smartest — it was the one that changed team habits least.
4. Screening applications
Summarizing CVs against role criteria to speed up first-pass screening, with one explicit rule: the final decision stays human.
5. Weekly sales reporting
Turning a sales sheet into a one-paragraph Arabic summary for management that highlights only the deviations instead of restating numbers.
The common thread: narrow repeated tasks, and a human reviewing the output before it ships.
